Why My Single Vote Matters?

"Vote wisely."

I am sure you are hearing this simple sentence constantly during election period. This simple yet powerful reminder tells me that my one single vote matters and I should vote wisely.

But why?

1. Privilege and civil right.

I can't be a wise voter if I don't register as a voter. Logical, isn't it?

Our laws permit 18 years old to vote. You can register even if you are not yet 18 years old, but will turn 18 when the election day comes.

Let's exercise right, a civil right granted to us. Not everyone, even fellow Filipinos, have the privilege to vote for some reasons. Let's not waste our right by not registering and casting our votes.

2. Simple contribution.

This is my simple contribution and act of love for my country.

My vote and other vote can make difference, collectively. The difference can be a positive or a negative.

If you and I are going to assess candidates and vote wisely, our votes can make positive impacts to our country. Our collective impactful contribution will surely leave a legacy.

3. We show concern to other people

Scrutinizing platforms of all candidates is a form of love to other people. Exercising our right to vote means we care for other citizens.

You and I should not only choose candidates based on what benefit us (selfishly), but should choose candidates with programs that will carry out outcome for our country.

4. Fight corruption

I want corruption to end. My single vote and your single vote, when casted wisely in favor for good candidates, can end the cycle of corruption.

We have witnessed how corruptions ruined government. We have seen how living testimonies from decent leaders ended corruptions.

My vote and your vote can change the stories of our lives and other people. I believe that we can help bring our feet back on the track—run away from incompetence and corruption—by voting and voting wisely.
