Father of Katipunan

A poem to acknowledge Andres Bonifacio's contribution to Philippine history - Young Pilipinas poem
A poem to acknowledge Andres Bonifacio's contribution to Philippine history

We have this bittersweet history, wherein we were in a Spanish colony.

We faced an enormous amount of discrimination and cruelty, caused by the colonizer's goal in our country.

We wished to be freed from that moment, To be against the Spanish government.

Countrymen are too afraid and worried, For there is punishment, a death ahead.

But a man with a strong will existed, Then founded the secret society to attack the rulers.

He became the commander in chief of the army, to revolt and oppose the true enemy.

Sadly, he got executed by his fellow, And his remarkable goal is what left us, the Filipinos.

He is our one of the nationalist with valor, and the father of the Philippine Revolution.

He witnessed how our fellow has been dominated, and wished to gain independence and have their enemies eliminated.

Let's remember Bonifacio on his birthday, to celebrate what he contributed to our country.
