5 Reasons to Add Manila Bulletin to Your Next Intramuros Tour

Young Pilipinas Manila Bulletin

The Old Manila or Intramuros is known for spots such as Fort Santiago, Manila Cathedral, Baluarte de San Diego, and Casa Manila. These places are famous for Young Filipinos and foreign tourists because of their rich history and beautiful structures. But did you know that there is a hidden gem inside Intramuros worth visiting because of the artworks and structures made of recyclable materials? Let me tour you to Manila Bulletin, one of the most trusted news organizations in the country. Know more about why you should add it to your list of spots to visit in Intramuros.

1. Free Admission

Who doesn’t want free? Of course, it’s a steal for anyone! As soon as you go inside the Manila Bulletin’s lobby, various artworks will welcome you. The paintings are made by the top winners of Manila Bulletin Sketchfest 2022. The artists are from different parts of the Philippines and are aged 12 years old and above.

2. Accessible

Aside from the fact it will not hurt your pockets to visit here, it is also accessible. It is around a minute-walk from Intramuros gate. Manila Bulletin is located at Muralla corner Recoletos Street which is also near The Bayleaf hotel.

3. Supports Recycling

Manila Bulletin practices what they preach. Some of the materials used in their building are recycled to help in having safer and cleaner Young Pilipinas. For example, the frames on the ceiling of their second floor are made from recycled aluminum wrapped in a newspaper just like llanera, a common container for leche plan. Also, the frames where artworks in their lobby are placed are used wood.

4. Instagram Worthy

Since this place is a work of art, it is perfect for your next Instagram post or story. The lanterns, chandeliers, and lights made the place to be more appealing to the eyes. Just find your best angle, and your good to go.

5. Affordable Coffee

If you have a spare budget, they have a coffee shop called Paper + Cup on the first floor of the building. The drinks and pastries range from ₱ 95 to ₱ 180 while the shop itself is cozy. Their Iced French Vanilla is worth trying!

Manila Bulletin goes beyond in delivering news across the Young Pilipinas. Hopefully, they sustain these efforts which are good to be mirrored by other organizations so that the next generation can enjoy a cleaner environment.
